My creative process is a mix of three things which I've covered in many of my Theories of Visual Communication blogs.
Vision Board
First, I create a vision board —usually a collage either digitally or with magazine cutouts.
Mind Mapping
Second, I mind map — usually with circles of text connecting the story.
Idea File
Third, I compile everything I've found on the internet—either to do with the story I'm working on or writing in general—into it's own idea file. Mine is a Pinterest board compiled from Facebook saves, Tumblr likes, Instagram likes etc. but it could conceivably be anything.
Podcast
When faced with the challenge of creating a digital story I tried to think of what stories I have already created and how to enhance those digitally. As I am currently submitting queries to literary agents for my novel I thought I might see how that text could become a digital snippet to grab attention.
